About Me

Lock began his investment industry career in 2006 and joined Stifel in 2014.  Prior to Stifel, he served as an Analyst at a leveraged buyout firm and as an Analyst/Financial Advisor at a prominent wealth management firm.  Lock Bingham

Creating and preserving wealth that spans generations is a science.  Creating and preserving a legacy that is as equally enduring is an art.  Lock seeks to bring both capabilities to his client experience, allowing for a well-rounded perspective and deep understanding of wealth.

Having earned a Bachelor of Music from Michigan State University and an MBA from the University of San Francisco, Lock realizes that wealth management – when practiced at its highest level – is both a science and an art.   For that reason, every financial strategy he creates is not only meticulously fact-based and science-driven, but also embedded with the artistic imprint of a client's unique goals, identity, and vision.

Yes, wealth management is about the money, but it's especially about family, friends, passions, causes, community, and so much more.  The deeper, long-term relationships Lock develops with his clients enables him to streamline the complexities of their wealth in the present while positioning them to potentially capitalize on opportunities that arise in the future.  For some, this includes providing guidance across generational lines and perpetuating their legacies through philanthropy for the arts.

Lock holds the Chartered Retirement Plans SpecialistTM and Certified Private Wealth Advisor® designations, as well as Series 7, 63, and 65 securities licenses and life, health, and variable insurance licenses (including annuities).  Outside the office, he serves as a finance advisory board member of the University of San Francisco.  He also plays the double bass in an orchestra, is an avid Peloton cyclist, and enjoys hunting, fishing, and golfing.

Lock currently resides in San Francisco with his wife and two children.
